Lobelia Siphilitica commonly known Great Blue Lobelia is a marginal plant.
This showy perennial has lanceolate, light green leaves.
The erect stems produce lavender-blue, tubular flowers crowded together on the upper part.
The species name is based on the fact that it was a supposed cure for syphilis.
Little maintenance is required. Trim to tidy but leave foliage to die back naturally to encourage winter bud formation.
